WHAT DOES VLT MEAN ACCORDING TO NORTH CAROLINA STATE LAW

The percentage of light that a window tint film allows to pass through your car windows is called the VLT (Visible Light Transmission). Each state has different legal allowable limits. The amount allowed in North Carolina for Passenger Vehicles and Multi-Purpose vehicles is very specific depending on where you live!

A higher VLT is important because it allows for more light to pass through the window tint film. For instance, a 75% tinter will allow 75% of the sunlight in compared with only allowing 5%.
