STATE OF MISSISSIPPI INFORMATION

Mississippi is a U.S state located in the Southern United States. Jackson, it is capital and largest city, takes its name from The Mississippi River which runs along this western boundary; it means “Great River” after being translated into Ojibwe language by voyageurs who first saw that wide river while traveling up the North American continent’s most prominent waterway. It has been 32nd out of 50 states so far but will soon become 31st if projections hold for upcoming years.
