Kansas Tint Law (Ks) Latest Update | The Tint Law

Spread the love

Kansas tint law 2021 is now in effect. This means that it is illegal to have any window film on the driver’s side of your car’s windshield, front side windows, and rear window. Unless you can prove you are a medical professional who needs this for occupational purposes only.

The amount of light allowed through these windows cannot be more than 33%. If you need help with removing or installing Window Film products, contact us.

Window tints were first implemented in the late 80s, with Kansas being one of five original states.

WHAT DOES VLT MEAN ACCORDING TO KANSAS STATE LAW

The percentage of light that a window tint film allows to pass through your car windows is called the VLT (Visible Light Transmission). Each state has different legal allowable limits. The amount of illumination allowed for an individual’s passenger vehicle in Kansas changes.  It depends on whether their license plate identifies them as registered as either a “passenger” or “multi-purpose vehicle.”

The higher the VLT, the easier it is for light to pass through. The 75% tint will allow 75% of what little sunlight there is to reach your car’s interior. At the same time, a 5 percent film only lets off less than half as much illumination with its dark capabilities. Make them perfect alternatives if you want everything. Guaranteed blackness!

OTHER KANSAS WINDOW TINT LAW RULES AND REGULATIONS:

Kansas laws on window tinting are strict, but fortunately for you, they offer some options to make things more convenient. You’ll want to take time and consider what type of windows your car has in order not only to provide protection from the outside elements. But also to keep heat inside during winter months. It maintains visibility at night with an illuminated film applied opaquely across them without any transparency whatsoever!

  • Do I have to have side mirrors in Kansas? Dual side mirrors are required if the back window is tinted.
  • Is colored tint illegal in Kansas? All tint colors are allowed in Kansas except Red, Amber, and Yellow.
  • What are the Window Tint Certification Rules in Kansas? Manufacturers of the film are not requirs to certify the film they sell in Kansas.
  • Do I need a certified sticker from the company installing my window tint in Kansas? State law recommends but does not require stickers to identify legal tinting.
  • Are there Medical Exemptions in Kansas for Window Tint? Kansas law does NOT allow medical exemptions that would allow you to use special tint.

Kansas tint laws can change daily. We recommend double-checking the information we have provided with your local DMV or law enforcement agencies to ensure that it is up2date. This page is up to date, but regulations may vary from city to county/state; therefore, always check beforehand!

KANSAS WINDOW TINT MEDICAL EXEMPTION REFERENCES

There is no window tinting law for medical reasons in Kansas. Suppose you’re looking to file an exemption with the state. In that case. We recommend contacting your representatives and asking that they change this discriminatory regulation. So people like me can legally protect their vision through the darkness!

INFORMATION ABOUT STATE OF KANSAS

The state of Kansas is located in the heartland of America. Its name is after the Kansa Native American tribe. Who lived there before European settlement. Whose name can mean either “people from the wind” or refer to their home – “the south.” This region’s high yields make it one of the most productive agricultural states. Wheat farms here grow tall with plump kernels while other crops like sorghum put on heavy heads too!

The 15th largest US territory offers you plenty for your buck.  As well: 33rd population density means less traffic than anywhere else. Would-be residents will find lots upon hours of entertainment options at every turn. Thanks mainly to its proximity to larger metropolitan areas like Oklahoma City and Wichita.
