Indiana window tint law has been on the books for over 12 years. As of now, it is one of only 39 states in which drivers can legally use their vehicles without shamefully hiding away or changing something. So basic as what’s seen by other people. When they look inside your car at night time through light-colored windows. But we’re. not there yet!

WHAT DOES VLT MEAN ACCORDING TO INDIANA STATE LAW

INDIANA TINT LAW 2021 (IN) | Tinting your car windows is a great way to reduce the amount of sunlight that penetrates into it. The type and thickness of film you use will depend on how much light needs to be filtered for yourself. Though each state has different legal VLTs which are listed below in order from most allowed through (smaller number) -two least- Indiana’s limit being 6%.

A HIGHER VLT means that you get to see more of what’s going on outside. With a 75% window tint, 75% percent or so will pass through the film and onto your view.  While a 5%-10%, depending on its thickness can block out all but just 10%. This makes it easier for drivers who want an unrestricted line of sight.  When driving at night time!
