COLORADO TINT LAW 2021 (CO) | Colorado window tint law was first put into place in 1995 with Colorado being the 26th of 50 states to enact these regulations. There’s no need for you to take unnecessary risks when it comes down to legalities, so we’ve done all our research and compiled an easy-to-read guide on how dark windows can legally be tinted without sacrificing visibility or safety features like rain sensors!

What Does Vlt Mean According To Colorado State Law

COLORADO TINT LAW 2021 (CO) | The percentage of light that a window tint film allows to pass through your car windows is called the VLT (Visible Light Transmission), and each state has different legal allowable limits. The amount of visible light allowed into my vehicle was calculated by measuring how much blue sky could be seen when looking out an open sunroof on both sides at once before they were covered in darkness with just one layer – this number will help determine if it’s safe for you to drive during certain times!

A HIGHER VLT means that more light can pass through the window tint film. This means you’ll be able to see much better with a 75% tinter than if it were only 5%, as 50 out of 100 would now appear clearly visible rather than just barely noticeable at best!

We recommend checking out our blog post for more information!

  • Dual side mirrors are required on your car in Colorado if the rear window is tinted.
  • In Colorado, it is illegal to have a tint color that’s not white or silver. All other colors are allowed except red and amber though!

  • Window tint in Colorado is illegal without a medical exemption.
  • Tinting laws can change on a daily basis and these rules may be interpreted differently from city to county. We recommend double-checking the information we have provided with your local DMV or law enforcement agencies for accuracy as it pertains specifically to window tinting in California. It is important that you contact us if there are any inaccuracies so they will get fixed immediately thanks!

Colorado Window Tint Medical Exemption References

The State of Colorado does not currently allow for window tint medical exemptions that would allow you to tint your windows darker for medical purposes.

If this is something that interests and concerns you, then we recommend contacting the appropriate state representative in order to file an appeal on behalf of yourself and others hoping they’ll change the law soon enough!
