ALASKA TINT LAW 2021 (AK) | The state of Alaska has a law that prohibits drivers from tinting their vehicle windows beyond 35% light transmission. This law only applies to the front driver and passenger side windows, rear window, and windshield. The penalty for violating this law ranges from a fine to jail time. The reasoning behind the Alaska Tint Law 2021 (AK) is so drivers can be seen by other motorists on the road during daytime hours and at night when headlights are used.
ALASKA TINT LAW 2021 (AK) | The content on these pages should not replace an attorney’s advice because there are always circumstances unique enough from person-to-person or location where something might not apply but could lead one into trouble if relied upon unwisely without consulting someone who knows more than just their own state/provinces rules regarding driving safely while using protection against sun rays during warmer months.

WHAT DOES VLT MEAN ACCORDING TO ALASKA STATE LAW
Window tinting films create a physical barrier to the passage of light which can be measured in VLTs (Visible Light Transmission). Each state has its own legal limits for how much visibility is allowed, so you need to research what these are before installing your window tints!
A HIGHER VLT means that more light is allowed to pass through the window tint film, making your car interior feel like a different place. For example, 75% tints will allow 75% of your car’s interior with no problem whereas 5 percent can’t go any higher than a modesty rating and may make you feel like someone else when driving at night or in low-light conditions (5%).
